It's really very easy to make edible chocolate bowls. White chocolate bowls with a dark chocolate mousse inside, for example, make for quite an attractive dessert.
Chocolate Bowls
12 oz chocolate chips, any flavor [1]
Pam (or other tasteless) cooking spray[2]
2 packages of water balloons[3]
Wax paper
baking sheets
refrigerator space[4]
Melt the chocolate chips, either in the microwave or in a bowl over simmering water. Stir well and allow to cool slightly.
Wash the outside of the balloons and blow them up[5]. I use water balloons because they're smaller and are thicker, and I put the balloons in a trash bag[6] to keep them from going everywhere.
Line the baking sheets with wax paper. Make sure you can get the baking sheets into your refrigerator with enough space on top for the balloons[7].
When the chocolate is fairly cool but still liquid, spoon out a disc about 2" in diameter of chocolate about 2" from either side of the baking pan[8]. Spray a balloon with Pam and dip the balloon into the chocolate to form a bowl. Place the balloon on the chocolate disc and leave it there, being careful to not disturb it while it cools. Repeat until you've made enough bowls (I usually make about twice as many as I need since they do break or have holes and it really isn't that hard to do)[9].
Place the baking sheet with the chocolate-covered balloons in the refrigerator. The air inside the balloons will shrink due to the cold and the balloon walls will come away from the chocolate. If they don't, peel the balloons off the chocolate carefully.
Use chocolate bowls to serve mousses, ice creams, or whatever. :) I would, however, suggest not serving with anything really hot[10].

[1] The better-quality the chocolate chips are, the better the bowls will taste when you eat them. Experimenting is fun because you can eat the mistakes. Ghirardelli white chocolate chips work pretty well in my experience.
[2] Make sure the cooking spray isn't the butter- or garlic-flavored kind. Nasty.
[3] I make about twice as many bowls as I need, so I usually end up with two packages of water balloons. Getting larger balloons is fine, but, unless you want chocolate plates, don't blow them up too far.
[4] Find the space in your refrigerator now.
[5] Washing the outside of the balloons is optional, but I don't know what they've been packed in (what's that powdery stuff, anyway?) so I at least rinse mine.
[6] A clean trash bag.
[7] Really. Make sure you have the space in your fridge. Now.
[8] The first set of bowls we made were very thin on the bottom and the weight of the balloon would usually push the chocolate out from under it, sometimes leaving a hole. This disc reinforces the bowl bottom.
[9] And the leftovers are tasty.
[10] The bowls will melt.
