Mostly referred to as a waste of time, skateboarding cause me alot of grief. Many people who love me, do not approve of it, and as much crap i take for it, the satisfaction it gives me more than makes up for the negative aspects. Almost 4 years ago, my perspective was permanently changed, when i gave up BMX, of which i was barely mediochre, to start skateboarding. It changed the way i looked at the world. Nothing will ever be the same, because once you pop your first ollie no ledge will ever look the same, no embankment, no railing, no set of stairs, it even changed the way you look at a wall, arguably one of the most vital aspect of modern life. This may be a waste of time, but it is a very pleasent one.
